the many phases of moon-Part I

Hey Y'all,

By now you have probably all read my bio so I won't bore you with repeating that. If you haven't, well, you should!

Since I'm new to the whole blog-o-sphere, I thought it would be fun to do a post now and again to help you get to know a little more about me- as a designer, mom and friend. So here's today's tidbit:

When I was entering third grade there were five Laurens in my particular class and I jumped at the chance for a nickname. I have two older brothers (and one younger) and their coaches and some of their friends called them "Moon" (our last name). My brothers were the essence of cool in my eyes and I would have done anything to be like them. So I told my teacher to call me "Moon." From that point on, I have been known as "Moon" by other students, teachers and friends.

Being "Moon" is a big part of who I am. The name has given me confidence and has set me apart from others. In fact, I'm pretty sure my name was the only reason I was elected to student government my junior year of high school!

Relationships are an essential part of the design process and I want to make sure ours starts off on the right track. So, let's just pretend that you've known me since third grade and call me "Moon!"
